What You Need to Know Before You Go

(1) We understand that many unexpected events may cause you to decide to withdraw from the National University of Tainan (NUTN), but withdrawing has many important consequences, both academic and financial. To be sure you are making an informed decision, we urge you to read the following information BEFORE you decide to withdraw.

(2) If you are withdrawing from your course, please indicate the main reason.

(3) You (especially for international students) are strongly recommended to consult with your academic adviser or the Department chairman to discuss your academic plan and the influence of the course withdraw to stay on track toward graduation.

(4) While you may apply to withdraw from the course of study at permitted period, you have to aware that the Teaching Affairs Section is authorised to refuse withdrawal even if the application has been approved by the course instructor.

Course Withdrawal Application Procedure and Guidelines

(1) Timelines and application period: according to school calendar.

(2) The course forfeited is not eligible for the course withdrawal application.

(3) Applicants may withdraw TWO courses per semester only. The withdrawn course(s) will still show on the applicants’ official transcripts and will be marked as “W”. Credits for withdrawn course(s) will not be included in the total credits of the semester.

(4) Applicants should pay FULL credit fees whether or not any course(s) is/are withdrawn. Those who have paid the credit fees but later withdraw a course(s) will not receive any refund; those who have not paid for the credit fees should still make full payment for the credit fees from the withdrawn course(s). (*Note: Applicants should make up the credits fees without objection even if a course withdrawal is applied before the payment.)

(5) Total credits taken excluding withdrawn course(s) should not be less than MINIMUM credit requirements.
